We work hard to ensure that we are meeting our customers needs as much as possible. This year, we’ve received a substantial amount of queries about specific accessible sessions for children with additional needs.
This year we are pleased to announce that we have five accessible sessions available to book – on November 30 at 8.40am, 8.50am, 9am, 9.10am, 9.20am.
We know that many families with disabled children find it beneficial to be able to book specific timeslots rather than having to join the grotto queue, and especially so we have created these special sessions.
Accessible support in ALL grotto sessions:
- Please make our team aware upon arrival if your child has any additional needs we have to consider. We can issue you with a fast-pass wrist band that, where possible, will allow you to bypass the queues. We cannot guarantee there won’t be any wait, but we can try out best for you. To ensure smooth running of this event, please only request these if you absolutely need them. We can only accommodate a limited number of them and need to ensure they go to those who truly require this extra help.
During Accessible Grotto sessions on Nov 30, 8.40am, 8.50am, 9am, 9.10am, 9.20am:
- Scheduled when there are less people around the farm
- Half capacity to usual sessions
- Quieter music with elves and Santa briefed to adopt a more gentle approach
- Magical Elevator can be taken per family rather than grouped with others (if required)
- Elevator can be entirely bypassed if required.
Frequently Asked Questions:
I have an under two: what ticket do I need to purchase?
Children Under Two wishing to see Santa need to purchase the Under Two with Toy Factory Gift Option. The free under two ticket is only for babies accompanying older siblings who do not wish to take part in the experience. If there is a family who only has an under two on the zero value ticket, unfortunately this ticket will not be sufficient to let you access the event.
Do we get to see Santa in just our family group?
Yes! Due to popular demand, we’ve returned to our one-on-one Santa format. Depending on the size of your group, you may be sharing your enchanted elevator experience with another family or two, but when the elves take you from Santa’s study you will be seeing Santa with just your own family.
Does Santa give children a gift?
No, Santa will be chatting to the children and posing for photographs. He will then give them a magical key which will allow them to access the Toy Factory and exchange it for a gift of their choice. Our Toy Factory is a magical experience all children enjoy.
What time do I arrive?
You need to arrive to the farm at the farm arrival time clearly stated on your ticket. You also need to ensure your family are at the magical elevator at your time to board. Unfortunately, if you miss your session, we cannot guarantee that we can accommodate you on a later one.
I’ve got a VR Magical Sleigh Ride ticket? Where do I go?
You will experience the magical sleigh ride, just before you go in to the Toy Factory (after you’ve seen Santa.) You will see it as soon as you enter the Toy Factory event space.
How does the event work?
It is crucial that our customers stick to the timings they are given, as this event has been designed to make sure your experience flows to keep the magic alive. Your experience starts with the ride in the enchanted elevator, then you’ll go into Santa’s Study where some elves will greet you. When it’s your turn, you will be taken with your family to meet Santa. Once your time with Santa is done, you will go straight to the Toy Factory to claim your gift (and ride the magical sleigh ride if you’ve purchased tickets for it.)
Is the VR Santa’s Magical Sleigh Ride Wheelchair Accessible?
Unfortunately there is not wheelchair access for this ride and there are small, multiple steps to enter the cart. However, if you wish to sit at the aside of the ride and use the VR headset then you are more than welcome to do this (though we must stress you will unfortunately not be able to enjoy the full experience.)
Can I bring a child in a push-chair?
Although young children are welcome at our event, unfortunately pushchairs are not permitted in our event spaces. You will be directed to our pram parking before entering for your experience.
What age do you have to be to ride the VR Magical Sleigh?
Our VR Santa’s Magical Sleigh Ride is for those aged two and over. This ride is not recommend for those with motion sickness or dizziness, vertigo, those who have a history of seizures or epilepsy. Guests who are pregnant can use our VR Ride with our any problem, however we advise that you consult with a medical professional before taking part. If you go on the VR ride without seeking medical advice then you do so at your own risk.
Do you offer any special provision for children with additional needs?
Please make our team aware upon arrival if your child has any additional needs we have to consider.
